Humidifiers: Cool Mist? Warm Mist? Either/Or?
I'm planning on getting one and wanted to see what type is most effective in recovery. Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure which one would be better but i know my sis when she was in the hospital for her jaw surgery she had a cool mist humidifier hooked up to her oxygen that she was getting, and when she got home we had a cool mist humidifier in the room that she was in.

Hi, I think that unless your doctor recommends a specific type, that it comes down to personal preference. I use a cool-mist humidifier, but quite honestly, only because it was the only kind the store had when I went shopping for one. Essentially they both do the same thing. Here is a link that explains the pros and cons of each

I think it is personal preference as well...However I can certainly vouch for the fact that cool mist humidifiers to get a lot of "white dust" build up and do need to be cleaned rather frequently.
Another option is to get a Vicks Vaposteam personal inhaler. I am not sure if anybody has used one of those post-op, but I am planning to pick one up this weekend.
