Three Years of Invisalign Coming (Pics)

#1 Post by Alexanne »

I've had insanely crowded teeth since I was 13, and now 5 years later I am able to have straight teeth! Too bad it'll take THREE years to correct.

I just went to an elite invisalign provider, and was told that my case was very complex with severe crowding and a cross bite. He said that it would take three years with fixed braces as well, so I opted to spend a little more money for the invisalign. I'm getting my impressions done tomorrow, I'm so excited!

I included some pictures, because I know that I've been helped by other people that have posted pictures. I would have never even opted for invisalign until I saw such great results with such complex cases!

Hi,

Make sure braces are covered in the price is Invisalign isn't working for you. Like he said, it looks a complex case and often people need to resort to braces.

Hello and welcome :)

Three years is a heck of a time, but Invisalign is definitely easier to live with than fixed braces so you'll be fine.

I would agree with PaulInc - Invisalign has its limitations so I would ensure your money pays for the result you want, not just the aligners. However, people are developing the technique all the time and an elite provider has plenty of experience with it.

I hope your impressions go okay, and think about booking an appointment to see your clincheck (and the notes that Invisalign send back!). Its great fun to see and gives you an idea of what will be happening and what concerns Invisalign has expressed about your case.
Initial set: 31 upper / 17 lower
1st refinement: 14 upper / 10 lower
2nd refinement: 10 upper / 5 lower

So I went to the ortho today and asked about fixed braces. Its a good thing I asked! He said it was included in the price, but that I will probably need fixed braces for 3-4 months after invisalign treatment due to one of my canine teeth being up too high. Still, the fact that only one tooth will not be affected during treatment is amazing, and I'm so excited! The impressions went great, and I'll be getting them in six weeks!
