How soon do you notice changes?
I've only had braces for about 2 weeks but I was just wondering how soon can I expect to see some changes, even small ones? My teeth are crowded top and bottom and closing extraction spaces.

I've had them since 1/26 and can tell my teeth have shifted. My bottom front are closer together, and my top two are almost overlapping. They feel different too; i keep running my tongue over the rough spot where my two top teeth are butting together. My one crooked tooth looks a little straighter.

From what my ortho told me in the beginning, it's all about age and roots.
I just turned 41 and have super long roots.
So I guess that means my teeth will take longer to move.
boo-ooo-ooo......... oh well

Update:
Prior to my first adjustment (which wasn't for almost 6 weeks after I initially got braced), I saw NO changes whatsoever. As patience has never been my "thing", I'd become a little frustrated at that point because so many people had said that I'd see a lot of movement early on. Well, I saw nothing......UNTIL (very strangely I thought) the DAY before my adjustment, in which I noticed a gap that literally seemed to open overnight! It was bizarre but so cool! I study my teeth every time I brush and I'm telling you that... one night, everything looked exactly as it did prior to getting braced and then POOF...a VERY noticeable gap the next morning.
The following day I went in for my first adjustment. I only had my top wire changed (I'll get a new lower wire next time) and immediately, the gap closed, but I was at a point where I was seriously wondering if ANYTHING had happened within that first 6 weeks so the temporary gap felt like a victory nonetheless.
Now...two weeks after the adjustment, I have noticed that my top teeth have straightened out quite a bit! Of course they're not STRAIGHT STRAIGHT but there's definite visible improvement...FINALLY! lol

I noticed small changes after about a week, and major ones after 6 weeks! The morning of my first tightening I woke up and everything was miraculously alligned. I had elastics from day one and by the second tightening my quite bad overbite was corrected and I dont have to wear elastics anymore My ortho says im at a very advanced stage for someone so early on (the closing extraction gaps stage) so hopefully they will come off early too!
