Poppy seed holes
Is anyone noticing little black or empty spaces between their teeth by the gum lines? I know with the movement this will happen, but it looks like poppy seeds stuck in your teeth. Is there a way to have this taken care of? I also had a lower front tooth extracted and will end up with a gap. They tell me this is the limitations of Invsilign. Wish I would have known this before I started. Overall Invisilign is a great way to go just inconvienent.

my dentist warned me of spaces between corrected teeth at the gumline and indeed this has occurred. He suggested if i had a problem with them from a cosmetic point of view, i could have porcelain veneers put on the cover them up. when i'm all done, i'll make that decision. good luck
Some people call these "black triangles." Anyway, this is caused by your teeth shifting and your gums receding slightly. Some of it usually goes away after treatment is finished and your gums fill out a bit.
Veneers won't really cover it...it is caused by your gums, not your teeth. Also, please remember that when you have veneers put on, you are committing to wearing them for life and can't go back to your "normal" teeth afterward very easily.

I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

thanx bbsadmin! Sounds like you know your stuff. It didn't make sense to me when my dentist, a cosmetic dentistry specialist, said that about veneers. Being a newbie to invisalign and one who never had anything done beyond normal maintenance, I just took his comments at face value, deferring to his expertise. I see him March 23rd....if I can remember, I'll ask him to explain just how he would accomplish a cover up of sorts. I seriously doubt I'll go the way of veneers regardless. My wife has them and they look great, but as you state, there's really no turning back, you're committed for life, implants or the like being one of the few avenues out. Again thanks.
