another tightening today (a few weeks late!)

Ive had power chains put on the top teeth again to close the gaps, and some sort of coil spring thing on the bottom to make room for that tooth thats trying to leave town..

I tried having lunch about an hour later, and now my teeth are frickin sore! It feels like i have something cutting into my gum, and sticking into my jaw bone. argh.. i wish braces didnt come with tightening!

Good news though! my dentist thinks that so long as i dont lose any brackets, I should only have the braces on for another year. Fingers crossed!

Well its been awhile since ive been on here! Time for an update I guess.
Since my last post i dont think anything much has changed. I've still got the power chains on and the spring thing to spread out my bottom teeth. I think progress is going ok, i am quite gappy at the top at the moment but apparently "gaps are good." Pain is basically non existent now (woo-hoo!)

I'll attach a new photo or two i guess. Its good for me, jumping on here im able to follow my own progress. a few days ago someone asked me how long id had my braces on for and i had no idea! Thank god for the forum lol.

I'm so happy, my tooth next to my front teeth, the one thats always been behind and made my teeth look so awful, has finally come forward!! Woohoo!
i dont think i have too much longer left now..

im getting my spacers in a few days and braces on top next week. I have a similar tooth on my right like yours on your left.

I have been nervous about going through with this. seeing your photos and progress are encouraging to see.

thank you for sharing...been a big help to me in getting my braces.

Your progress has been fantastic, emmajade! It must be so wonderful to see your teeth all lined up and in their proper places! :D I hope that means you're getting close to the end!!

oharabrat - did you get your braces on yet? how are you going with them? i hated the spacers, but i had them on for ages.

I had another trip to the dentist yesterday, and he has just started making me wear elastics (the ones that go from the top teeth to the bottom, to correct crossbite).
I asked him if they were going to hurt, his answer was "well not straight away!" lol
sure enough, middle of the night i woke up in a fair bit of pain.. you know that uncomfortable pain, where you just toss and turn and cant get back to sleep.. i ended up falling asleep with a bag of frozen peas on my face hehe.

anyway, apparently if i wear these elastics all the time, i should have my braces off within the next few months! woohoo!

wow its been awhile since i got on here! i just jumped on to show someone my teeth before the braces, and thought i should post.
My dentist told me in april my braces would be off in 2 months, but i still have them on. My crossbite is fixed, and i had to wear elastics to close the gaps i had from having my teeth pulled out, those gaps are closed now so NO MORE ELASTICS!!! woohoo! My top teeth basically look done, i have 2 teeth at the bottom that still need to straighten up slightly.. im off to get x-rays before my next visit to see if all the roots are in the right spot... according to my dentist im on the 'home straight' now, so im looking forward to getting these things off within the next few months!

I'll take some photos within the next few days and put them up

yeah it is exciting, i'm so happy with how they are looking. I am hoping at the next appointment he gives me a defenite date for when they come off

Wow Emma, your teeth look AMAZING! It's so exciting, congrats! I will warn you...as soon as you have a debanding date, the time will start to crawl! I got mine off today at 6pm and was STARING at the clock all day! Totally worth it though!

saw your post in remarks to my teeth. got braced in march...i have no behind tooth anymore!!!! i will have to post photos of before and after here when I figure that out. Your teeth look fabulous!!!! really nice to see it. I know how excited Iam to enjoy a row of straight on the top
