Braces titlting bite?

#1 Post by MakePinkNotWar »

I got top braces on Thursday. When I got them my mid-line was perfect and matched up. Now when I bite down my bite is slanted to the right. Is that normal? Has anyone else had their bite slant one way? When I say slant I mean my entire upper arch now wants to rest more to the right of my lower arch than it did before.

I can take pictures if that would help.
Most days I forget I even have braces.

Hi.... I have had my brace for a month now, and the one thing I've noticed is that my bite is constantly changing. I asked my ortho and he said it's perfectly normal, that as the teeth start moving my bite will be changing.
I would still ask your ortho at your next appointment though.

Thank you for the reply! I didn't want to call and inquire about it if it was normal. I was also just curious if I should fight the bite change or not. I will definitely ask about it at the next appointment. Thank you again!

My midline was perfect when I started. Throughout my treatment, it got way off and now we are fixing it with elastics! Yes it will change and sometimes it will look really bad but they gotta move around to make the correct changes!

Best of luck

when i got my expander out and braces in, my over bite turned into an open bite which is hideous

the braces immeditaly started fixing it as my teeth were expanded and the braces were un expanding them

however only the left side is done unexpanding and the teeth are alligned almost

the right side my top teeth dont even touch my bottom teeth when i bite becuz it is expanded and my bottom is not

so its like an over bite on the right part of my jaw
it looked really slanted at first and now it looks less slanted but the teeth aint unexpanding, the doc said it shud in a few months but i have had no progress at all, in fact my clenching has made it worse

the left gets better n better tho wtf! lol if my teeth dont unexpand i will have a bad smile :(
