Getting teeth cleaned

#1 Post by invertigofreak »

Will I need to have the wire removed to get my teeth cleaned by the dentist?

I am thinking it is about time I went and got them done.

No need to get the wires removed, they clean around it.

I had mine done a couple of times whilst braced and it didn't cause any real issues as most of the stains etc tend to be on the backs of teeth rather than the fronts.

you don't necessarly need to get the wires taken off when you get your teeth cleaned. I have had my teeth cleaned 3 times already since I've been braced and haven't got my wires off either one of those times. However I've heard of some people on this forum getting their wires off just before their dental cleaning apt and then going back to the ortho to get the wire put on so it can be done. Just depends on the ortho and what he thinks and the dentist as well! Enjoy the cleaning! It makes your teeth feel soooo good afterwards!
