lower jaw surgery + genioplasty?
How come a lot of people need both types of surgery?
How do you know you have a weak chin or no chin? lol
Does a person look better if he/she also get genioplasty too?
Do you think it's worth to have a combination of two surgeries? I heard the chance of getting permanent numbness when you get two at the same time is about 70% more than if you just get lower jsaw surgery.

Here are pictures of my lips + chin

I think my lower lips are even. Do you think the genio or jaw surgery can fix it?
By looking at my chin, do you think it's worth to have genio too?

I already did. I am getting BSSO surgery in this coming July. My bottom jaw will be pushed backward 3-4mm.ReoSity wrote:Looks like you have bite issues, see a maxillofacial surgeon.
I was just wondering whether I should discuss about getting genio too. since my chin is so short.
How much is genio???

What my surgeon did is made the genioplasty a "we'll see what happens" type of case. They went in and did everything they had to do (move my upper molars up and my lower jaw forward) then looked at how my profile looked. Turns out that they still needed to move it forward, so they did. But she told me that if everything was fine, they wouldn't move it at all. Right now my chin looks very nice, and I have soft, feminine features.
Just be sure to tell your surgeon that you don't want a "Leno chin" or anything like that. Generally the surgeons know what looks good on a guy and girl as far as that stuff goes, so they'll make the right call.

dont get a genio...it will make you look masculine, and elongate your face, and might even make your chin stick out. i had one by a very prestigious doct and got it completely reversed and look great again. the results of the genio (8 mm), were completely and totally horrendous. take a look-

i think your chin looks fine...dont mess with it, its not worth the risk of looking manly. soft features look good on girls.

I'm curious, are you having any lower or upper jaw surgery in the future?lisab28 wrote:dont get a genio...it will make you look masculine, and elongate your face, and might even make your chin stick out. i had one by a very prestigious doct and got it completely reversed and look great again. the results of the genio (8 mm), were completely and totally horrendous. take a look-

Your jaw and lip position are very similar to mine. I also had a sliding genioplasty which came out great but I really should have gotten lower/upper surgery as well so I'm doing the brace/surgery route.

Well, when i smile my chin looks fine. I guess. But when I don''t smile it has a very uneven shape. I want my chin to be a little bit pointer (but not too much) at least not like the way it looks right now.
Here is a more close up no smiling picture.
