Thanks for the replies guys,I was just wondering as I had a consulatation booked last Thursday but there was a problem with the orthodontist so I have booked another consultation with another dentist, which has set me back a few more weeks,so I'm hoping after the consiltation I can get fitted with braces asap

good luck, then! I remember how I felt the same way, and was really anxious to get started, I guess it is normal: once you take the decision, it is kind of frustrating to be waiting for endless weeks...

How long to get braces?

#21 Post by jjrp434 »

In depends on the office. Usually, you will come in for a consultation with the orthodontist. If you decide to proceed with treatment, the staff there may take records that same day, and then schedule you to come back to get braces. Sometimes, they may schedule you to come back for records or even go to a 3rd party records lab, which may delay getting braces just a little bit. Here is some more info about getting braces. Sometimes, getting the full strapup will take just one day. Other times it may take multiple visits, especially if you are getting a special appliance such as an expander. It will depend on the office protocol, how busy the office is, and the complexity of your case.
