Getting spacers after braced??

I've been braced for about a month and I'm scheduled to get spacers in about another month! Has anyone else gotten spacers after their brace day? I thought it happened the other way around.

Also, found out I'm getting molars bands a week after the spacers!!

Sometimes the ortho will wait a while before adding the molar bands from what I've noticed on the forum.

I'm getting spacers due to a bracket on my crowned tooth. The bracket only broke off once. Something about a bracket on a crowned tooth I guess.

yeah the bracket won't stick very well to a crowned tooth so they put a molar band on that tooth and stick the bracket to the band instead
