East Midlands, lower ceramic and upper linguals...must be some kind of hot spot, I know one other adult with them (ceramic) three that have had them removed in the last year (ceramic one with upper lingual) and someone else at work is getting them - not sure what kind.

I'm getting them in *hopefully* a few weeks, right after I have my top two first bicuspids pulled out for the overcrowding I have!

I'm a 15 year old teenager, and a fair few people have them in my age group, but it seems that most high school teenagers have them at a younger age - more like 12 or 13!

I'm from Cambs too, nr St Neots.
I had a friend who had invisalign (I'm 33), a girl in her 20s in the pub had them and also an older lady had the full metal works at the rail station. There's quite a few of us!

I live in the East Midlands and also spend quite a bit of time in the North East where I am originally from and I've yet to see a single other adult wearing braces in either location.
Lots of kids and teenagers but nobody over 18.

I do see lots of adults where I think "You could do with getting braces"!
Not that I'm a mean person, but having braces has made me kind of obsessed with checking out everybody's teeth, I can't help it!
Does anyone else find this?

Cool :) I was in Guildford for about 3 minutes last week on the train to Portsmouth :p

I work near Maidenhead and a guy I work with who's 23 has braces.. I do find myself looking to see if others have them, now I do!

Ha, yes, all the time ... when I'm talking to people, watching TV, reading magazines, etc!!! It's got to the stage now where my husband (who is, and always has been, brace free) does it as well!!

I'm not in England but Ireland - Northern Ireland - instead. However, we have the NHS here too so I'm in a similar boat if I decide to go down that route.

I will be going across to Southampton, England - next week - if that counts.

Yeah, big time. I'm really into teeth and bites at the moment. I'm always trying to observe other peoples teeth now hopefully, er... without staring. I actually find this all very interesting and if nothing else seeing the wide variety of bites out there reasures me that most people have peculiarities with their teeth.

When I got my braces on as a kid I remember a lady that either worked - or was the wife of the orthodontist - had braces too. And these were the full train tracks. But I think adults getting braces will become more common as healthcare reaches further into the areas of our lives that previous generations would have neglected. I just think that the people that post here are just on the cusp of a new trend.
