jaw clicking?

Hi Everyone,

I am almost 6 months post-op, and recovery is going well. But on occasion when i chew (food besides soft) i get a clicking in jaw. It happens very rarely but am slightly concerned! Any comments thanks!

If you didn't have the clicking before the surgery, then I would suggest speaking with your surgeon about it. I did experience some mild clicking after about 3 weeks, but I think that was just due to things not having been completely healed. It went away by 6 weeks. At 6 months I might be wondering what's going on too. I hope it's nothing serious.

I get the same thing and I'm 10 mo's post op. I really haven't noticed this until the last few months and it just pops on the left side on occasion. When I recently talked with an Oral Surgeon regarding other issues I had, he said the jaw takes about 2 yrs to "settle" and he didn't seem too concerned. I'll never go back to my original surgeon, so I can't ask him - but if I were you I would definitely call your surgeon's office to make sure this is normal.
