Whitening Toothpaste

#1 Post by SWebber »

Hiya,

I've had ceramic braces top and bottom for about 10 months and have been using colgate whitening toothpaste for all of that time; will the teeth under the braces be a different colour when I get the braces taken off?

Only just thought of this and panicking a bit now!

Sorry if this has already been asked or I have posted in the wrong place, this is my first message :)

Thank you for any answers!

Most people here say that their doc's told them whitening toothpaste is fine since it only removes new surface stains.

I have been told by my orthodontist DO NOT USE ANY TOOTHPASTE OR MOUTH RINSE WITH A WHITENING IN IT! I am just so not happy as I had been using closys toothpaste and mouth rinse twice a day and my teeth and gums were looking so healthy. I had previously had treatment from a Peridontist. Now I have had to be using Sensodyne without a whitener along with piksters and floss. My dentist has just recommended that I buy a dental water jet. with 3weeks in and 24 months at least with metal braces top and bottom I feel I can justify buying this product. Any more help on this matter would be gratefully accepted.
