I have a pretty flat face and a slight upper jaw deficiency. I'm wondering whether upper jaw surgery will make my cheek bones look at least a bit fuller? I don't want to get cheek implants or any plastic surgery but as I could be getting upper jaw surgery anyway, I'm wondering if it will change anything in my cheek bone area.
It will have some effect. How much effect it will have is hard to say. If your entire mid-face appears flat you should consider seeing a cranio-facial plastic surgeon for a LeFort III maxillary osteotomy. That operation advances your entire mid-face(maxilla, cheekbones, nasal bones, floor of orbits). Good luck.
My doc is putting in cheek implants when I get my surgery. It was not my idea at all! He said that with the amount of movement he was going to do during surgery that if I did not have the implants I would have a concave face. You should ask your OS.
I lied (not really) my surgeons plans have changed. I'm not having all that stuff done. I am just having a lefort one and he is moving my upper jaw up a bit. I am going to have plates and screws put in. He said that my cheeks will look the same.
