Big. Sad. Face. Disappointment.

#1 Post by gregpeckfan »

Hi all.

You can see from my pics my "rogue tooth". I went for my 2nd tightening yesterday. At the 5 weeks ago (first) tightening, she put on power chains to my Incisors to pull them back over those extraction gaps. The plan was to bracket the "rogue" tooth yesterday and pull it in line.

I went to the appointment with a sinking feeling, I could see that there wasn't enough space to bracket that tooth. She confirmed - no bracketing of the rogue tooth. Instead, I got really tight power chains, a metal "spring" thing on that side, and (for extra fun) some type of wire tied onto my lower, L, canine(?) tooth to rotate it - it's catty-wampus. But that lower tooth has been the least of my worries with the Grade A+++ crowding I had on top.

Did I mention, I'm getting married on September 5th? (hangs head, sniffles) Originally ortho estimated the gaps 2/3 closed by 9/5. Mmmm. Not so much I'm thinking.

So this time: 4 weeks with the power chains, metal coil and I go back 8/24 and we hope to place a bracket at that point. But mostly? I just want those gaps to close a bit so I don't have horrible photos for the wedding. Thank God in heaven for photoshop.

I had to look twice at your photos to even see the rogue tooth. It's nicely hidden by the wire. If you have a bracket on it, it might be more noticeable. If it were me I might wait until after the wedding to get the rogue tooth bracketed.
