just got back from the hospital had my first appointment since the op, they took the splint out undone the bands which aparently were really really tight so no wonder i couldnt speak lol
Anyway they had a removable wafer for me because the wire had to be cut on the lower teeth to narrow my jaw (xhin split) they wanted me to wear it to stop my teeth moving out too much but it was so painfull putting it in they decided to leave it for a week.
I have bands now just a box either side and a v at the front which i can remove but my teeth look fabulous !!!!!!! the surgeon ortho were so please and i think they look great, well worth every bit of pain.
now its just waiting for the swelling bruising to completly go im able to eat soft food and can open my mouth prob two fingers worth so not bad.
first normal meal SUPER NOODLES today lol gona give it a go just made em x

yeh it was its still difficult have to swallow them without chewing im not even that hungry so didnt eat much but im looking forward to weetabix with out the syringe lol or backed beans n mash yum

How are you finding the weight loss aspect that most people seem to have - is it quite dramatic or not really - seems to vary.

don't blame you on the wafer getting in front, I think I would running away from them if they tried to do that to me!

So glad it's all going well for you and that you're feeling in better form. Hopefully now it will get beter and beter for you as the days and weeks go in. Take good care of yourself and please try and eat a little more - apparently it does help with the healing and you need food for energy too. (this is me with my 'mummy' hat on) God bless xx
to be honest i was ony 8 stone so i my body wouldnt loose fat that easily i think i may have lost about half a stone maybe a little less so i havent done to bad considering. must be all those milkshakes from mc'd's lol

What's a jacket potato?
I have a funyn stoty to share. I'm from the states and I have family in England (was going to go to England for the first time to visit, but I am having my surgery) ANYWHO! Reading through these threads it's funny to me the differnet words that different cultures have. Okay, now here is my funny story
So my family comes to visit from England, and on every street here in the US is some sort of restaurant. So, we pass by a Popeyes chicken sign that say's "Chicken and a biscuit 2.99"
And my family keeps asking me, why would you eat a peice of chiken with a biscuit.....
later to find out they were thinking that a biscuit ( a dinner roll) was a cookie! like a choclate chip cookie!
For some reason I think, that this story is hilarious!!!!!!! But as I am writting it, it's not that funny....I guess you had to be there

i went to america and asked for milk with my coffee and they asked me if i meant cream i said no milk lol Milk is cream over there isnt it.
Anyway update on day 7 i feel fantastic its unbeleivable, eatigns a chore but i feel really good
hurry heeling thats all i can say, i must of done something good. i slept upright for about 5 days and i think that helped loads and plenty of water.

lol i make my coffee with half a cup of milk zapp it in the microwave then a spoon full of coffee and two sugars YUM !
