Congrats on getting your uppers - my lowers go on two weeks from yesterday! I'm so excited to get those bracketed and started in this little movement game. How are you adjusting to your uppers and having an entire mouth bracketed?
Brace days:
uppers - June 11, 2009
lowers - August 27, 2009

A double congrats to you!! I remember how freaked out I was when I did my driving exam and honestly, even though I've been licensed for ten years you couldn't pay me enough to go back and do that test!

I hope you are adjusting well to having both sets of chompers braced. Don't worry about the mega-mouth feeling, I've had my uppers on for a month and they still feel huge but I'm starting to notice them less. Hopefully it's just going to be a matter of time.

Hii SarahLynn, yay for your lowers, i bet you're so excited!

I'm getting used to being fully braced i suppose, i reckon uppers are harder to get used to cos they're more obvious, but soo happy i went with ceramics!

Thanks bracedincanada, i was soo nervous on my test, probably more nervous than i was getting my braces put on haha!

Hi PrincessPeach

I bet your happy now you're fully braced and your journey has really started.
I hope they're feeling more comfortable now.

I only have uppers at the moment and I don't know when I'm getting my lowers. :(

I totally agree with bracedincanada, I have had my licence 9 years and I would never want to have to go through that test again so WELL DONE TO YOU!!!

Did you buy yourself a present for getting through to this stage of your treatment?? :D

I quit smoking about 4 years ago and I've been buying myself well done presents ever since

Hi Ladybird!

Yep i'm soo happy i've got the whole ball rolling now, even if at first it was so uncomfortable, i'm still trying to get used to them being so big in my mouth though, i feel like i've got a constant pout going on

I hope you get your lowers soon so that you can feel like everythings getting going :)

Thank you! I dont want to do the test again either  I've just been driving around here there & everywhere now, just cos i can hehehe!
But i think i should take a leaf out of your book & start buying myself a few well done presents ;)

Anyway...finally some pictures! Thought i'd post them before i disapear on my holidays & you'll have to wait 2 weeks for them...
Again they're not great, my camera doesnt seem to like doing these kinds of pictures :(

I'm sorry if they're too big/too small, i wasnt sure what size to resize them too, so i estimated hahah

So this was pre-braces on my uppers

& this is today [i'm gonna call it my week picture, but its only 6 days...]

As of yet i cant get any good pictures of my lowers, nothing seems to be changing at all, uppers or lowers, so i'm getting slightly disheartened, especially now i have to see my ortho every 8 weeks, it feels like i'll be in these braces forever :(

The ceramics look nice, kinda wish I'd got them now, oh well
They feel much bigger than they look but I think you'll get used to it.

I know waiting for change drives me mad and it's not like you can just not look at them for a while when you have to brush them so often.. :x

I've heard a few people say that they didn't see any change for a while and then it happened suddenly so hang in there :D

Yeah i love my ceramics, but i'm so scared of staining them, my grandma made curry today & it smelt gorgey, i just couldnt have it though!

haha yes i'm constantly staring, hoping to see change! I think you're right, i'll just have to hang in there & one day i'll see change!

Well i've been on holiday for 2 weeks, which has been a nice change and has given me time to get used to having braces [and a nice tan hehe!], & i can say i'm totally used to them now, thank god! Though sometimes i still feel like i'm pouting

Anyway, after 2 weeks on my lowers i'd seen loads of changes, but on my uppers i've seen nothing
I havent had any pain with neither my uppers or my lowers aswell [but that could be cos i'm on real strong painkillers, i overdid the swimming on holiday & mr spanish doctor says i have tendonitis], but i wish i was feeling something so that i'd know they were moving, especially as its over a month till my next adjustment :(

I'm hoping its a step in the right direction, but at the moment i feel like nothings happening :(

I'm jealous of your holiday! Glad that you're used to everything now!

Have you taken any more pictures to see if there are small changes? I know what you mean about the changes in the lowers in the first few weeks - mine have only been on a week and the wire is nearly straight already! My uppers have taken longer to see changes so hang in there, they'll be happening before you know it.

Thanks Margie!

I havent really taken any pictures recently cos i've been so busy, i move to a whole new city in a week, eeeep!
I'm hoping i start seeing some action with more uppers soon, they're hurting abit today, but i did eat some really hard biscuits so i suppose that could be why
