Hi everyone,
I'm 27, from Canada and newly braced in Damons. This website is really what gave me the courage to go ahead; everyone's before-and-after pictures have been a huge inspiration.
About me: Always had crooked teeth due to crowding. I was 16 when I had the last of my baby teeth pulled (four in one go!), and an impacted canine is still stuck up in my gum because there just isn't space for it. My bite is off, too.
I put off getting braces when younger, but ended up visiting the ortho a few months ago to find out what could be done to pull in my missing canine tooth. He said braces were the only way, so after some prodding from my lovely girlfriend, I decided to go ahead.
My details: Assymetric Class II Division 1 malocclusion in which the right side buccal segment is Class II, while the left is Class 1. I have a 70 % incisor overbite with a 5 mm overjet. Dental crowding in both arches. My midline is off, and things don't really line up.
So far: Had one premolar extracted to make room for everything to move around on the top. My braces -- Damon Qs with clear brackets on the front six -- were put on this A.M.
No pain yet, but I'm unable to chew and am getting by on ice cream and soup

I'll try to keep posting regularly. Thanks all, for your support!

Just three days in and I've already noticed some big changes!
On top, a 1mm gap between my front tooth and my lateral incisor (had to look that up!) has closed.
On bottom, a couple of errant teeth have straightened out and seem to be sliding into their proper place.
Perhaps this won't be a 24-month sentence after all!
