The Waiting Game

#1 Post by koffymasheen »

My main reason for getting braces was to get rid of the gap between my two, upper front teeth, but it seems like it's taking FOREVER for it to close! (OKay, okay, it's only been 6 months since I got braces, but still!) I had my third adjustment on Thursday, second time with a PC on top, so I know it can't be too far off, but it just seems like I'm making no progress. :/ Buuut, maybe I'm just impatient because I can't eat anything solid. :P

I do have a question for the general, braces-wearing public, though. My adjustments are about 8 weeks apart, but it from my perusing around the site, it seems like the time between adjustments for most people is less. Is 8 weeks a long time to go between adjustments?

I've been in braces for nearly 5 months now. Perhaps due to my ortho's AGGRESSIVE use of PC's, my front tooth gap is closed now -- of course, I have tons of spaces to close elsewhere so I'm waiting it out too. My adjustments have been about 6-8 weeks apart just depending on what the objective is. Right now, the main focus is a class III bite.

Here's my second day braced:

And here I am a few weeks ago:

PC's = Power Chains they're additional ligatures for closing large spaces. They can be a little intense :)

acidcookie: Your progress makes me jealous! :P

I want to compare my pictures from first day braced and now, but unfortunately my digital camera is currently MIA. I'm sure there's some progress going on, maybe.... 8)[/i]
