Hi I am 59. Yes 59! Had my metal braces fitted top and bottom on the 13th August. My Orthodontist told me I am allowed to be a teenager again! Don't think I will go that far though. Was so embarressed for 2 days, now love to smile and show where some of my Kids Inheritance is going. Have had a lot of teeth and gum problems and my restorative dentist pointed me in the right direction to what will be in 24 months, a confident SMILE Reckon I will loose a few Kilos in the process. Having trouble eating and cannot chew still! I live downunder in Australia, hope to find a fellow Aussie here somewhere!

Hello mmgran. Good on you!! I am a fellow Aussie and have had my braces on since January 2009. I am 33 and live in Brisbane.
Oh to be a teenager again, I tell you what though when I was a teenager I used to always try and break my braces so I could get half a day off school as my ortho was in the city Can't believe I used to do that.
Yes, I have lost a couple of kilos, but am making up for that now. Your teeth will settle down and before you know it they will be super straight. I can't believe how good mine look already.
