Stainless steel after 2 months?

#1 Post by chemicalfan »

I had an adjustment yesterday (2nd one), and they took off the original wire (the freeze spray-reactive one), and replaced it with stainless steel which is stiffer? The measurements were (I think) 0.19 x 0.22 - does this make it a rectangular wire? If so, I thought they were used near the end (or at least past the middle), but I'm due to have this appliance for 2 years! Anyway, it doesn't hurt, so I don't mind. Well, it hurt getting it on, but I always find getting the ligs fitted the worst part.

Basically, I thought stainless steel rectangular wires were for near the end, not at the start of the 3 month! Anyone else have any comment on this?

I've been in braces for awhile, but thinking back, I think I got rectangular wires early in my treatment too. I seem to remember being in the round wires for only a few months and have spent the majority of time in the thicker rectangular ones.
