I got my 2nd adjustment today. My dentist put thicker wires, a coil to get space for my implant and i have to start with one H8 elastics on the left. He said the elasic band should stay in for 24hr. Only when i'm eating i should take it off.

Wow - you put up with that for two weeks?! You're tougher than I am! A weekend with a pokey wire was my limit! Cor - I really am a whiney weeny!
I e-mailed my ortho and explain the situation and he told me he was not going to be at work the day when i wanted him to clip the wire so i waited 2weeks. I used waxed the relieve the discomfort. The other thing is that my ortho is not close to where i live so i waited. :(

One bracket came off about a week ago from one of the molar tooth. I got another adjustment yesterday. I was kind of scared about telling my ortho about the broken bracket. :x He said that's not good at all. He put another one back on. He change the old coil for a more flexible one he says. He told me to continue wearing the elastic band. Right now its a bit difficult to chew on the side he puts the coils.. I guess i'll manage. By the way i have in rectangular arch wire also . He didn't change those. My next appointment is 07/26.

I got my adjustment on 07/26. My ortho change my upper archwire to a thicker and permanent one. He also change the coil and kept the same archwire on the lower. It feels a little bit uncomfortable until it gives me a headache. I'm still on one elastic for now.

Congrats on getting your braces! Right now I have brackets and spacers, and I'll be getting my bands and wires next Monday. I hope you're not having too much pain! I know I'm not (yet) because my spacers are just an annoying pressure right now.
Good luck! I hope you have good progress!!!Bye now!

 I am so glad that you have some experience with having top row metals. that is all I am going to have (I am getting braces in 2 weeks) for about 6-8 months..then they are putting lower metals on and attacking bands to correct my overbite. Keep us posted on your progress! I hope all goes well! :-#)

Its been 7 months since i have my braces. I am just feeling a little bit of pressure from the power chain and a thicker coil. Still wearing the elastic bands. Ortho said the power should close that stubborn gap i have.

I am too vain to walk around with plaque on my teeth. I am just glad that everything is going well so far, and i've seen a lot of improvements. :)

I had my adjustment 11/30... One of my brackets came off around the back. My ortho was busy so another dentist took over. :( She glued the bracket back on, change my power chain and i am still wearing H6 Elastics, 6mm (1/4) Heavy 4 oz. That power chain is really cutting the inside of my lower lip this time around.

My next appointment is 01/03/06...

I am pretty late with my story, but i had an adjustment Jan 10... No more elastic bands for now! :) That stubborn gap on the lower arch is finally closing... after almost a year.

Thanks KK for that home remedy! No pain at all right now and I am pretty happy with the result so far.

Well I had another adjustment on 02/07... My ortho took off the clear powerchains on my lower arch and put the silver ones... At least I can eat all the curry I want. :P I can't believe it's almost 1 year since I have my braces. Everything is going smooth as planned. Hoping to get my braces off soon. :P

I am late reporting, but better late than never. My last appointment was on 03/15... I have powerchains on lower and upper arch. First 5 days i could hardly bite anything hard. It is much better now. All the gaps are closed except for this stubborn one at the side. I am very much happy with my treatment. My ortho told me that i am doing a pretty good job cleaning my teeth and i should teach some of his patients. My next appointment is 4/19

Good looking out KK & Lucyloop!
