Ugly
Moderator: bbsadmin
That's not the attitude you want to have going into surgery, or even really thinking about it. Have you considered counseling before delving into the surgery road? Remember, everyone's idea of what's attractive is different. You don't have to fit into a certain "attractive" mold for someone to like you.

The eyes being too close together is called hypotelorism. It's often a symptom of trigonocephaly(aka metopic synostosis). You should see a craniofacial plastic surgeon at an academic medical center if you're interested in treatment for it. Mild hypotelorism without any symptoms would be treated as a cosmetic case and probably cost a fortune. You should start out with a consultation to get a professional opinion.
I agree with Esoteric--you may want to get some counseling. Society puts a lot of pressure on us to look a certain way--but only if we let it--I think you need to be at peace from the inside out. In this life it is very important to accept yourself the way you are, and only then, consider surgery--unless you have a functional issue that needs to be addressed. Surgery is not the answer to every problem, and it comes with the risk of causing new issues--such as permanent numbness. What you call ugly, others may only view as different. In any case, you should never refer to yourself that way. I hope you can get some help to feel better about yourself.
I mean this with total respect, but you should be consulting with therapists instead of surgeons. The whole braces and teeth moving thing is really taxing on someone with low self-esteem. The process makes you "uglier" before it fixes you, know what I mean? Your teeth get all screwed up, you have braces, your jaws are a mess... you can really end up messed up in the head if you're not in the right frame of mind. It takes years from start to finish and depression is common. If you're already feeling this way its going to be a very long and difficult process, and imagine your reaction when you look in the mirror for the first time after waking up and look like you've been hit by a car, and then realize you're going to look that way for weeks. Its not an easy thing to go through.
And also, again, respectfully, I understand you're looking for sympathy but threads like this one don't really help anyone or contribute much to a forum of this nature. I don't mean this in a negative tone, but people here are looking for information, past experiences, and are here to support each other through the process. Threads that say nothing more than "I'm ugly" don't really contribute anything to the community other than taking up peoples' time. Here's a self-esteem forum that might be more appropriate place for this topic: http://www.psychforums.com/self-esteem/
Some members post photos and ask for opinions on what surgeries might be needed, that might be useful to someone who shares a similar issue, if you're comfortable doing that. But starting an entire thread about your opinion of your face doesn't really help anyone, or you. I have no idea what you look like or what jaw-issues you're dealing with so can't really comment on whether or not you have any reason to even get surgery. You may be a perfect-model for I know who just has self-esteem issues. I've read all of your other posts and nowhere do you provide any info. on what exactly you're concerned about other than a long face from what I gather.
Please don't let that deter you from further posts or participation, I'm just suggesting you make better use of this forum for your own sake. You'll get more out of it.

I will check out that self esteem board but the fact of the matter is
I fall outside the "ideal facial proportions"
It is distressing and I am not sure if a MAX FAX will agree to do a Le Fort 1 since I dont have a bite problem or a gummy smile.
I definitely need a chin reduction and maybe a canthopexy to make my eyes seem a bit wider
Not sure if this is all, I also have some soft tissue problems in my mid face

Remember, a good majority of people do not have the perfect ideal proportions, even after surgery. It's just something for the doctors to shoot for when drawing plans up. Since you seem to think that you need to have many different surgeries, including one for you eyes, I have taken the liberty to find one of our members here who has gone through a lot. You should take a look at her threads and maybe try to PM her for some advice. Also, just because you do not have a gummy smile does not mean you aren't eligible for a lefort 1.

I sent my pics to 2 max fax drs and both said no to jaw surgery
They said "you dont have a gummy smile or incorrect bite"
One said that if he reduced my upper jaw, then my teeth wouldnt show when I smiled and it would look bad. He recommended a chin reduction.
As for my eyes, they are not right next to each other but could ideally be a bit further apart
I guess I am fairly normal looking but far from ideal facial proportions.
I still feel my maxilla and chin are the hugest problems I have.

Sending pictures to a surgeon isn't equivalent to a consultation. They'll obtain x-rays at a consultation and perform cephalometric tracing to get a more comprehensive understanding of the state of your jaws. A consultation should be the first step in regard to the eye issue as well. A canthopexy is one option but isn't always an acceptable substitute for cranio-facial reconstruction. In regard to the comment: I fall outside the "ideal facial proportions" ..... Numerous people have a symmetric and well-proportioned face that isn't attractive.
IF you think you're fairly normal looking then it can' tbe that bad.
Up until weeks ago I had a CRAZY inderbite; I was commonly referred to as "Beavus" if that paints a picture for you. Even got ragged on by a bunch of Austraian kids one time when I lived in Europe.
But I dealt with it, I JUST got my durgery at 32 but life would have went on if I didn't. I have a hot wife, great kids and am overall happy and successful.
Life isn't how you look but how you deal with it.

I did get xrays
One max fax in NY said he could do a genio but it wouldnt make a huge difference in my appearance. He showed me before and after and I dont think it would be worth it to go to him. I went to a Plastic Surgeon today and he said I shouldnt get a genio. He also looked at me like I was from Mars. I am female and it is more difficult in this society to be female and not good looking.

Well, if your face is cephalometrically normal then orthognathic surgery would be useless for you. In regard to this comment: "He also looked at me like I was from Mars". Do you mean that he thought you were nuts for even considering a genioplasty? In regard to this comment: "I am female and it is more difficult in this society to be female and not good looking". If there's nothing to fix then there's nothing that you can do.
He looked at me like I am from Mars because he probably thought I have too much filler in my face.
I did get some silicone put in under my eyes and it made my cheeks look very large. I dont like my face at all but I do like the look of big cheeks
I guess this dr thought it was too much
He probably thought I had bdd but I dont
IMO I needed a maxilla and chin reduction years ago but was never properly diagnosed. I tried to offset my facial problems with fillers
