There is ALOT involved in answering that question.
In regards to periodontal disease as long as there is no active disease braces are often done on pts with bone loss. As far as using lingual or regular braces I dont really know what the difference would be.

Thanks drrick.

Can linguals be applied even if there is bone loss?

My problem is receeded, which I understand is dueto bone loss.
Does treatment of receded gums using oil pulling help in recovery of lost bone as well?

Thanks for your reply.

I dont see why not. Labial or lingual should work...agaion as long as there is no active disease.

Thanks drrick.

Would you consider receeded gums as active disease?

Also is there any proven way to recover the bone loss? Will it never recover on its own?

no receeding gums is not active a disease but rather a result of the disease. Active disease is bleeding on probing, big periodontal pockets, etc. Your doc should be able to tell you if you have active disease. Generally speaking (not always) once the bone is gone its gone.
