I went for an adjustment 1/18/10 and my orthodontist removed the powerchain on my lower arch and double tied it.
My question is... what exactly is "wire number 2"? At that appointment "wire number 2" was added to my upper arch as well as a powerchain.
Thanks,

Wire number 2: or the thicker 'arch-wire' applied to your upper teeth applies more pressure to your teeth in order to align them.
This is why it is called 'an adjustment' - they adjust the strength and size of your arch-wire in order to get your teeth to co-operate.
As you go in for more and more adjustments, they will slowly begin to increase the thickness and strength of the wire - this is of course in advisement of your treatment plan and the orthodontists discretion.
^_^
Hope you aren't too sore and good luck with your treatment!

Hi, the soreness is normal and to be expected. ~ They are now moving into aligning your teeth and finally working towards your bite with a bite more pressure. I've been braced for about 2 months now and i still have days where i wake up and my teeth are extremely wobbly and sore.
Hope your bracing goes well for you.
