Numbness going away, pain starting

#1 Post by ossiander »

It is just over three weeks ofter Upper and Lower jaw surgery and some of the numbness is going way. How ever I am starting to get pain and I can feel my teeth move. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have been taking ibuprofen every 4-6 hours the past 2 days but today it hurts even more. I am going to call the surgeon when her office opens to see if I can can get anything stronger and to find out how long this might last.

I noticed that I am a little hot sensitive, I had some hot cocoa and I could feel where one of the metal things was put in on my upper face. It felt strange to say the least.

I am 2 weeks post op and the same thing is happening to me.

I had been off the pain killer meds, but the last 2 nights have actually had to get up and have some. I even opted for my prescribed meds rather than just panadol or ibuprofen.

I had Lower jaw advancement. Most of the feeling has now come back to my lower lip. Part of my chin is still number. I am back in bands too 24 hours and it seems to be putting a lot of pressure on my jaw and especially my teeth.

Am seeing my surgeon in 3 days so will put up with it til then.

I guess it is part of the process where the body is trying to heal itself....
