Did you slack at all on wearing tray #5? If you put in 250 hours as opposed to closer to 300, that may account for it.

I've been very lucky. Tray #2 hurt tremendously the first 24 hours.

I'm now on Tray #12 and no problems since. I wear each tray for about 280-290 hours.

I've had some that hurt more than others for sure. I think the previous posts might be right on - if you had a tray that you didn't wear as much as you should have, the next would be tighter. I know I've had times where my trays were out longer than they really should have been (christmas parties, going out to dinner, etc).

i've had my first try in for just over a week now and despite extensive pain relief I have had constant aching in all of my lower teeth and a splitting headache! I just want to give up as the pain is unbearable with the aligners in but better when they are out! Is this normal?!!! :( :?

At the beginning of my treatment, my teeth were very sore.
Then, for the longest time (as my teeth were spacing), I just felt some tightness when I changed my aligners, but not sore at all. (I've read some people taking Advil to cope with the pain, but luckily that has never been me). Now, that my teeth are starting to straighten, I definatley feel more pain. Like the other posters said, it all depends on how much your teeth are moving. So, I guess now my teeth are moving more, so I feel more pain. Not unbearable at all and i take no meds, but it is definately more sore than past aligners.
