Front teeth overbite

Suitable for Invasilagn?

My ordoth recomend ceramic on top and metal on bottom.
Never mention the invalsign even though i know its is qualified as it say so on the website.
Or was I just not suitable?
Will see him next week for xray regarding to see if need extraction?

Really rather not lose teeth

Hi there,

If you take a look at my blog (link is below) you will see that pretty complex cases can be treated with Invisalign now. I had to see a few providers before I found my ortho though. Maybe just get some more opinions from very experienced Invisalign orthos. Then at least you will know whether you are suitable for treatment.

I'm being treated for severe deep bite with Invisalign. Like you, Invisalign was never mentioned to me. When my Orthodontist found a resorbed tooth root, he decided Invisalign would be a safer approach.

You may want to get second opinions about your suitability for Invisalign as well as the need for a tooth extraction.

I have an overbite too and was told that Invisalign would fix this. I didn't even think about this as I wanted to correct some misalignment and overcrowding of my teeth.

I didn't need to do a tooth extraction though. I had some teeth "shaved down" instead to make room, and more shavings later on in the year. It's supposed to be much safer than pulling a tooth out.

I have an overbite as well and was told that it could correct mine to a degree - not completely as some of it is just bone structure that can't be changed much but they can get them straight and moved back a good amount. I had regular braces as a teen and had 4 teeth extracted so I didnt' need that obviously this time. My teeth just went from being straight and moved back as far as they could (even regular braces didn't take care of all of the overbite, as I said it's bone structure issue too) to close to where over the years so here I am again to get them as good as they can be!

I have an overbite and my 21U/21L didnt't fix it. they have straightened my teeth up very nicely but the overbite is still there. So I told my ortho that I am not satisfied and he made some refinements that are supposed to push my teeth back. So I really hope it works!
