I was 18 when I got my current set of Inspire Ice, I think I was 16 or 17 when I got my Invisalign which sadly were a waste of time due to, at that point, having the most awful orthodontic practice!
Age 65 and full metal mouth. I was braced at about 13, and never had retainers....maybe they didn't have them then. Hopefully this time it'll be right and I'll be braces free in about a year and a half. Can hardly wait.
I'm 27 (28 in April) I've had a Nitanium expander in since October 14th. I go in next Tuesday the 2nd to get my upper wires and then on the 9th for my lowers. I've needed them since I was little but we couldn't afford them. I have arthritis in the right side of my jaw where the joint didn't form correctly. Hopefully this will take care of it without me ending up with surgery.
Got my spacers 18 February 2010. Turned 20 on 20 February 2010. Got my braces 25 February 2010. Got my palate expander 12 March 2010 (they're gone on April Fool's Day!). The spacers were a right pain and the expander's not much better but hey, all worth it in the end!
Today......I am 41 years old. OMG I have waited what seems to be a lifetime for the possibility of straight teeth and smiling without being so self concious.
I will be 18 when I get my braces. My orthodontist said "you're getting on a bit, aren't you?" and it made me feel like I'm too old for braces, but I don't think I am!
I am a 34 year old female, in Canada. Braced for the first time in my life. I wish I had done it sooner, got married 3 years ago and was so self consious of my smile in all the photos even though I had undergone ZOOM whitening for the wedding. I have only my top braces on currently, In-Ovation C, the bottoms will go on in 4 months.
I actually had braces when I was about 16 years old. Now, at age 54, I had to have them again. The reason was that the previous orthodontist pulled my canines. My teeth started shifting inward until my bite was off enough that I was chipping my bottom from teeth. Great!! I've had my braces on for a year now, but recently my orthodontist had spacers placed between my back lower molar and wisdom tooth. One side was sore, but after 4 days is okay. Unfortunately, on my other side, my wisdom tooth became almost totally inbedded in my gums. The pain was so severe, not even ibuprofen helped. I a desperate move this morning, I pulled the spacers out. I know I will have to call and have them placed back in, but the pain is slowly subsiding, but my gums are still a bit swollen. Thanks to finding this site, I will try the salt water tonight for relief.
