First adjustment yesterday...BUT ?

#1 Post by KyVic »

I had my first adjustment yesterday... Got my Braces March 3rd. Top only.

When she pulled off my ligs and removed the wire...my teeth felt like they were gonna fall out..LOL. But then when she put everything back on, there was a little pressure for a few minutes....then nothing different .

I had people tell me that my mouth would really hurt and be sore...BUT to be honest..I don't feel anything different . Is that normal ? Will my teeth still be moving even tho I am not feeling anything different ?

I don't know if there is a normal, but my teeth only hurt for a moment when I got my first adjustment. Now, randomly, two weeks after, they hurt. My teeth have moved so much in only six weeks that I think they are always on the move--pain or no pain.

My first adjustment didn't hurt at all. I thought, "What the heck are these people on AW talking about.." Then, my second one arrived and that was a bit more painful.

From everything i've read on AW, i think the orthos take it easy on us for the first couple adjustments. Just to give you time to get used to the braces. I'm actually not nervous about my first as much as my seond or third. Then again i guess it also depends on when you get power chains, or elastics.
