Just wanted to say good luck on your journey! I can totally understand about the powerchain. It's a dull, aching pain all over! Like yourself, I just got my elastics last week. Same formation! Hope ya feel better. :)

Here is my delayed response to the comments I've received .

I've got one more class left until I'm done with bouts of Insomnia and lack of sleep...I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!!! :D Leave it up to me to go non-stop for 17 hours and STILL not be able to close my eyes at night although I'm thoroughly exhausted.

Anywho! On to more exciting things!

40WithBraces Hi and Welcome!

Congratulations on your brand new journey! Braces have a lot of stories to tell you just wait! I'm glad you like my story. Yup...Senorita Man Hands really did me in. I had to laugh because OMG! I think I was asking for it for something interesting to post and whew! That thing she used to keep my bottom lip from touching my teeth was pure torture!!! I'll be sure to check out your story as soon as I'm finished posting :).

My favorite gal Opera^gal!

You can say that again!!! I've been snapped and slapped repeatedly. I even had a little projectile snapping this morning :). I haven't broke any yet (lucky me!) and because of how far they're stretched they haven't had the opportunity to slip off (hopefully that won't last for long!) I don't look normal eating with these things so I've given up trying, anytime food time comes around these little suckers are coming off! Knowing me if I did eat with them in I'd have a stomach full of latex.

gokix Hello!!!

Kix used to be my favorite cereal so I love your name :D. Thanks so much! I need lots of luck, especially since my Ortho has his work cut out for him . Even a week later my teeth still ache! I've never ached this long. It's 3 days tops usually. Well...I kind of force myself to resume my regular diet because I can't stand eating soft foods for too long since they don't fill me up and I get grumpy when I'm hungry :P. You have the Canine to 1st Molar as well! Alright! I'm sure you feel my pain. Things are definitely looking up. I'll check out your thread as well.

Alibracket!

I like this color too :D. I'm a little worried about them staining, but judging from my experience the cool colors (blues, green, silvers, some yellows) seem to stain quicker than the warmer colors.

Alright! Your gonna have to keep the bracket popping up! Shoot, you should be excited...I'm excited for you! I should start up a Foundation called "No Tooth Left Behind." Encouraging braced teeth neglected by their Orthodontists to rebell.

I'm actually able to wish my upper row a happy six month bracerversay! What a surprise!

Wow! What can I say? The end of March was VERY busy. I'm a couple of days away from another adjustment (April 15th) and days away from my actual birthday (April 14th)! I had to say birthday because I don't want to confuse anyone when they see my ticker

This should be interesting sharing my birthday with my braces this year. The big 2-4! It's bad enough everytime I tell someone how old I'm going to be I seem to see a puzzled look on that persons face...then they say, "REALLY? I thought you were going to be turning 16!" Thanks...

The braces really don't help either. I'm still receiving strange looks from majority of the kids at my Orthodontists Office.

Oh well!!! I know how old I am!

Maybe I really will be thankful when I'm fifty and people still think I'm 20...Not to mention I should still be sporting a moviestar, 1st class smile around then too!

Ahhh....Genetics rock!

Happy belated 6th month lowers!!!

My very first birthday with braces wasn't bad at all. Actually I'm quite proud of myself :). My teeth are moving, I'm getting older and more mature, and my braces loved the cake I was given . Of course I had to brush something fierce but hey! it was all worth it!

I had an adjustment yesterday. I'm trying to see if I can modify my pics because I took them on ol' faithful. My cellphone. I let my mother borrow my camera to take pictures of her products, it went to a good cause :).

On another note. I think...GULP! I'm gonna have to start cutting any sandwich I get . I kid you not! I literally cannot bite down with my front teeth without any trouble. It takes me like 20 minutes to eat half a sandwich! Not to mention it hurts. It's not normal when it hurts to eat. I take that back, it is normal when it hurts but I'm a big brave dog and I suck it up and eat it anyway! What's not normal is not being able to eat at all! I'm in my 6th month. I guess I gotta pay for it eventually.

I guess I will be resulting to soft foods and forks and knives to cut my meals. UGH!!!!

Out celebrating your birthday by filing your tax forms. hehe

24 years Congrats. Hows the progress, can you see a lot of movement? I cant wait to see pics. Are you in elastics or anything? Any new and fun gadgets in your mouth? I like to live vicariously through your teeth. Mine have pretty much stopped moving so its nice to read about all the news going on with your teeth.

Hello Boys and Girls!!!

Thank you all sooooooooooo very much for the birthday wishes whether late or not (in response to PrincessPeach :))

Alibracket your teeth are looking fab and you'll get your braces off before me :x (lucky duck!) but the tooths are feeling fab except it looks like I brushed the seal off they gave me to cover a precavity. Hopefully it won't do too much damage . I brush like a beast obviously.

AgainBrace/Ken...You. are. AWESOME! I hope you've seen Bolt. Thanks for the Banner! It kind of felt like a Biirthday that day so I can appreciate the double i's. That was the first time in a long time that I've actually had cake ON my b-day.

AND NOW FOR A 1600 MILE ADVENTURE...

The braces (and Buckey of course  ) will be moving to North Carolina! Yup, I've had one heck of adventure only to relocate...

The move isn't until June 9th so I've got a little time. For now, here are some pics to free your mind. 8)

Alibracket my newest device are those evil rubberbands :). My teeth seemed to want to hurt right before I went into my appointment last Thursday so I felt like tech was mutilating my mouth with that vicious powerchain. I actually wanted to cry when that happened!

From the pics your teeth have really changed! It doesnt even seem that long. Your upper arch is definately more round thats cool.

Before i got braces my front teeth used to flare out and it kept my mouth open. Its been wierd now that my teeth have flattened out- I hold my mouth differently.

Love the green

Alibracket don't you love being able to close your mouth normally now? Before I started jutting my lower jaw out I had a few problems keeping my lips closed . It got worse after my upper arch began to get aligned, and now it's smooth sailing. 8)

You're progress is nothing short of amazing from what I've seen and the toofs are lookin awesome! :D

I'm loving the green most definitely! The only problem is my graduation colors are black, burgundy, and gold. I should have picked accordingly :?.

Aloha, HeyBuckey!

I spent the longest time at work yesterday reading your thread, and enjoyed it immensely. I am a fellow “Buckey”, as you can see from the pics in my story. Your post describing your extraction day was very timely, as I’m scheduled to get MY top-left premolar extracted tomorrow morning… WITH the laughing gas! Without it, I think my mind would take me to very bad places and I might not go through with it. I just hope I don’t babble too much and make a fool out of myself.

My last experience with the nitrous was about 15 years ago when I got my wisdoms pulled. I brought along my SPAM (yes… my pre-iPod days) and blasted Garth Brooks’ music as loud as I could. Every once in a while the doc would pat me on the shoulder and ask if I was okay, and I’d always answer (very enthusiastically, I might add) “OH YEAH!!” If that’s the worst thing I do, I’ll get off easy… Although, back in the car afterward, I was a tired, drooly mess.

Anyway, back to the present: Your progress has been phenomenal, and after seeing your before and current pics, I’m so inspired by what my teeth may eventually look like. I’ve already seen some movement/straightening of my lower-front teeth after only 3 weeks… and those weren’t even my main problem. I cannot wait until my top lip doesn’t get caught on my front brackets anymore when I smile. I still have to get one more molar band (lower-left 1st molar) put on next week, and then after the extraction site is sufficiently healed, I’ll get fully wired (and probably chained!) the week after. Mid-May is when my big adventure should begin, and I cannot wait!

I will be following your thread closely – thank you for sharing your story and keeping all of us entertained.

Hi all!!!

I apologize in advance for my almost week late response post :P, what can a girl say? 8)

Alright, alright! I've been bumming it for a while at work again. :D Work is where I go to relax seeing now that at home is a boxed mess because of my upcoming move. Anywho,

Catgyrl I definitely dig your avatar. That is friggin awesome! Your so lucky, had I gotten the nitrous I would have had so much more to tell (as if what I already had wasn't enough already ) My post is like 5 days too late to console you from your extractions :( but I hope everything went well and you didn't drool too much. That gauze tastes quite nasty after a while and you can't even spit for a while! It's a shame we can't have a something to record one of the most interesting parts of our journeys...the ortho/dentist visits. I can only imagine the look on your face when your doctor was checking on you, I bet it was classic!

I noticed no one fully described their trip to getting teeth pulled, that would have made all the difference and I may not have had to go tinkle as much when I got to the dentist office. I feel your pain on being tired afterward. I slept really good that night...

I'm gonna check out your thread shortly here. There's nothing I love more at this point in my life than moving teeth :). I do not miss the brackets catching my lip however. No, not cool at all. I think it was about a week to two weeks after I got these devices on before that died down. So hang in there! Thanks for all of your awesome, awesome compliments, they're better than getting gifts on my b-day :).

cheyeaitsxchelsea I'm stoked!!! And ridiculously excited, I hope I can get these things off by my next b-day instead of waiting until September! I need a good metal free summer grin :D You want to know what the best part about the green is? It's still green! I could almost cry tears of joy with how happy I am about that!

HeyBuckey!

Okay, first off: I did not bring SPAM to my oral surgeon's office 15 years ago. It was a portable casette player (walk man) that apparently gets bleeped when I mention its brand name. Yet I mentioned the mp3 player and it stayed in. Whatever...

I did drool quite a bit from my extraction, but since I was at home by myself, no one else got grossed out. I had a very smooth recovery. I am rather glad that there were no videocameras recording my nitrous experience. I'm "pretty sure" I didn't say anything strange. :?

Just got back from getting my final molar band on, and my new wires. I am ALL SET! I asked the tech if these would facilitate more movement, and she said, "Oh yeah!" I posted some pics of the new metal in my story thread. I wish my teeth were whiter, but I guess that will happen when all this is done.

Take care!! :D
