Yeah I'm finding I get disapointed too .. I need I expect so much .. But I guess it's like that saying " a watched pot never boils " ... oh well I have a similar sentence to you .. 12-15 months .. I guess not much is going to happen for awhile * sigh * =( at least that's what is nice about this forum ... We don't have to go through it alone ... Because it sucks all my friends have nice straight teeth and all had braces as kids .. I feel like a slight outcast haha ... I'm still getting my confidence.

I feel the same, but I find myself smiling a lot more now. Its like my friends who had braces like a year or two ago, they completely forget what its like to have them.

Yeah totally, no one remembers anymore! arg I went into work today for the first time with them and everyone was like "ooo show us your braces!!!" its like ... uhgg is there a desk nearby that I can just sit under with a laptop for the next 15 months lol.

youre snaggle tooth is just like mine I get braced on the 23 of this month and i can not wait to get that baby down where it belongs. I see you have a tooth infront of another at the bottom are they extracting anything down there? I am asking because i have the same over crowding and my dr isn't extracting anything I am dreading when i get the bottoms because that is going to rub on my gums. Is the snaggle tooth bracket rubbing your gums? I am so glad I found you since we have the same teeth

Not to butt in or anything. I was whitening before I got braces and I didnt want to tell my ortho I was just in case of trouble or whatever, but at the consult of my records I was like, can I whiten before braces, and he told me not to because it softens the enamel. So if you want bright white teeth like leahmb I would sooo wait until after all the braces stuff and dont attempt to do it before hand. I quit instantly.

But crest white trays and strips are the best in the commercial market, so ive heard. Im going to try those out!

I think that your tooth has definitely moved down some! That's exciting. I have the snaggle tooth on both canines, and I have been braces for about 5 weeks, no movement yet.

My ortho said not to expect any movement until the 3rd month. My 1st adjustment on Monday was just a change of wire. I can't until these teeth start coming down!

thanks. I have been brushing two times a week with hydroperoxide

but I am not going to admit that I hope my enamle didn't get ruined I have done twice in one week for two weeks oppsie!!

Your teeth are sooo white, can't wait to whiten mine after my treatment is over. It's one of the things that keep me motivated-thinking of all the nice things I'll do afterwards, like thinking of lipstick shades that I couldn't wear before because it drew too much attention to my teeth.

wow so i'm sorry that I have literally been M.I.A FOREVER!!! I have been a very busy girl!! anyways to answer all of your questions about my white teeth i did not use anything before braces ... i have just never been a big coffee or wine drinker so that was never a problem as per staining goes and ive always used a whitening toothpaste I do however also want to get my teeth professionally whitened once all this braces nonsense is done =D

So i am very comfortable with the braces these days I dont really even care that they are on! not to mention i can still be in pictures with my friends and you cant even see the braces from a distance, so they are totally not as bad as I was expecting! I have had no problems with eating food and no pain at all! mind you .. i say that now! my first adjustment is on May 27th and I bet i'll be feeling something after that haha ... my tooth has moved down some but its still got a long way to go till its perfect ... but ive also been noticing my two front teeth have been straightening out and its VERY easy to floss in between them now! OH OH OH! and with my snaggle tooth ... the one true way I can tell that its coming down .. is because i can actually floss it now haha its kinda bizzare but a great feeling! especially since im only a month and a bit into my sentence!

Anyways I hope you all are doing well, and that the braces are just fine!!!

Oh! and lastly!! everyone is right about not whitening before you get braces! it does weaken the enamel and defenitly dont do it during haha could you imagine! when your done and you have nice little square yellow spots where your braces used to be ... might just slightly take about from the initial excitement haha!!

Anyways! summer is finally here! i wonder how braces are going to go over at the beach? haha ... fashion accessory perhaps? ... hmm i think im dreamin ...

here are some updated pictures from today ... sorry for the brutal quality .. i took them with my iphone and to say the least they didnt turn out so well haha but hey they give you a rough idea of where im at ill take good ones after my first adjustment!!!

Thanks!!! I JUST got caught up with your story and your teeth look AMAZING they are moving SO fast im jealous!! haha!! however .. power chains .. YIKES! congrats with a year of college behind you! I bet that feels great as well!! how are things on the love front? more accepting of the braces i hope!! =)

Thanks :] and yeah powerchains hurt! So did the adjustment. My molars are a bit sore. Be sure to take tylenol before hand.

As for the love front, its very complicated. Ill leave it at that. But hey its whatever!
