When do you notice an approvement in your appearance?

#1 Post by joeniceteeth1 »

I am only on day 2 of recovery, but for those who have gone through this, when did you start to notice a change in your appearance? Is it true you won't get a true idea until 4-6 months? And what did you have done? Any input would be appreciated.

For me it took a good 2-3 months before I noticed I looked 'better'. Thats about how long the swelling took to subside enough that I couldnt really notice it so based on my experience, once the swelling has gone down alot, thats when you will notice the improvement. Because before then all I saw was the swollen head and not how much better my smile was

It sounds like it varies based on the person, but my swelling is virtually gone about 4 weeks out. Even with my splint in I can tell that my bite has definitely improved. I will probably see improvements to profile and such as soon as they take this splint out since it pushes out a good amount on my lips and makes it somewhat difficult to close my mouth.
