Noam - from the before/after pictures I've seen, both BSSOs and IVROs shorten the face. I haven't seen any literature that suggests one shortens the face better than the other though.
Eric - thanks for sharing your experiences! It seems there's only a handful of people on the boards who have had an IVRO and it's always extremely helpful to hear from people who have gone through the entire treatment.

Also, I forgot to mention that I had a sliding genio plasty as well. That could account for some of the loss of feeling in the chin that I have. What really shortened my face was the genio and the impaction of the maxilla. God, the more I think of the surgery, the more things I remember I had done.
