I went to my ortho today and she took off a few brackets (about 6) and then glued on new ones in slightly different spots to continue the straightening process. Only one of them really hurt when she shapped it off but mostly it was just uncomfortable. I got my first lick of a bare teeth in 9 months and I liked it
But my question is, has anyone else had some brackets taken off then put back on in different spots? Is this a common thing?

It is not uncommon to reposition brackets during treatment for a variety of reasons.

I had my brackets repositioned during my last adjustment. Before he repositioned them they took a panoramic x-ray to see my root placements from the adjustment before that. They had to check to make sure my roots are not touching or something. I'm sure repositioning them will help the leveling process. I did have to get one of my molar bands repositioned too.
I'm not sure if it's a common practice but I'm glad I got mine repositioned! Orthodontics is such a complicated process it seems.

Braced for 23 months 1 week and 3 days!
I had 4 extractions and all my wisdom teeth removed.
I decided to get removal retainers so it will be easier to floss.

This is our preferred way of getting teeth into the correct position as we detail the alignment. For various reasons, brackets may not be in the ideal position from the onset, due to initial tooth position, overlapping gums, etc.
Another way to improve alignment is to bend wire, but this can be less accurate and more time consuming, particularly if a bracket comes off or if there is a broken wire.
