Just got spacers and brackets in

#1 Post by joe984934 »

I just got my spacers and brackets last Thursday. I have to wait two weeks until the spacers move my back teeth for the orthodontist to put the wires on and all that other stuff on. I have a few questions though:

1) A couple of the spacers don't seem to be all the way down or in the middle of the tooth, they seem to be almost near the top of the tooth. I'm assuming this is ok? And one of the spacers on my right bottom side is pretty far down the tooth from the middle and is causing me a lot of pain. Is this all normal? I'm sorry if these questions don't make sense, I'm trying the best to describe the situation.

2) Some of the brackets I noticed weren't glued on horizontally centered on the tooth. Is this ok?

Joe -

Sorry no one posted sooner for you! First with the spacers. What you are describing sounds fine. Most of mine seemed high with the top part showing. It all depends on where the teeth are touching in between. For the brackets, they are placed in a manner to rotate the tooth to the correct position so they will appear to be placed funny if you need the tooth to rotate. It all sounds normal and I think you will be fine and congrats on improving your smile and bite!
