2 Months w/ Braces (Pictures)

Hi Vulcan,
Really excellent progress! You must be really chuffed! I'm interested in your experiences with the quad helix, as I am due to get one fitted next month (I've had braces on for about 6 weeks now). Did you find you had any speech issues with it? Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Oh yeah I had speech problems for about a week after it was placed. But, you will get used to the appliance. No one really noticed the speech either unless I made a point of it. At the beginning I wanted it ripped out because it was unusually hard to eat, swallow, and talk. The big issue to start with is the tongue not having it's "rest" area to itsself anymore. Just stick with it, especially with eating, you will become a pro at how to live with the device.Sandpiper wrote:Hi Vulcan,

It was uncomfortable, but after a few weeks you will forget it's up there. As they say, it "becomes a part of you". Then when it comes out it will feel weird for you being able to feel the entire roof of your mouth again haha. Good luck with it, after the first couple of weeks it will be no problem.

gap
I had a gap appear between my two front teeth early in my treatment too - now seven months in, the gap is still there. One of my front teeth is rotated like yours, so I'm thinking they have to make space for it to rotate into position. My husband likes my new gap, he wants to ask the ortho to keep it permanently
