question about bonding
For anybody who has had some cosmetic bonding done - is it considered cosmetic and not covered at all by ins? I am considering getting the inside bottom corners of my two front teeth bonded because at the very ends they look 'chipped', they don't touch. My dentist will probably think I'm nuts but I notice it. I have some pictures around here somewhere so feel free to look and tell me if you see what I mean (it's in the brace journal section under my name).
Anyway, I thought maybe the retainer would help too but I think I'd need ipr, it's almost like a reverse black triangle for want of a better description. If you've have bonding are you happy with it? I'm just not sure what I should ask my dentist about, bonding or ipr.

My dental insurance doesn't cover any cosmetic work or adult orthodontics. Needless to say this has been a very expensive couple of years!!
Thank goodness my dentist needs a seamstress and I need dental work. We both win!

'cosmetic' is more for veneers, whitening, etc.
For bonding of chipped edges it is typically not considered 'cosmetic'

Bonding for a chip is considered restorative not cosmetic.

Thanks I will ask my dentist about it in about 2 weeks. I asked him about internal bleaching too but I don't think I can do it, the office said I'd have to basically have the root canal redone? Not worth it.... I have never had any issues with a root canal and I'd be that one person in 1000 who did AFTER it was touched again.
