Go Bouncing Tigger Go!!!!!!!!
I'm 43 and I have had my top braces on for a little over 11 hours. I have been very fortunate that the pain is mild. Have resisted the urge to take anything at all for the discomfort. I am enjoying the sensations I am feeling in my mouth.
I had a very bad accident a few years ago, and rehabbing my leg and ankle was far more painful than what I'm experiencing now and that wen on for months and months and still causes me problems. To the point at hand though, I never once thought about driving to the doctors to have them remove it.
I could wake up tomorrow and sing a totally different song of course, but for the moment, I am finding a spiritual release in every little twinge. I've been running around for thirty years hating the way my smile looked.
I got my eight year old daughter and we went and had a milkshake and a long talk about how we're going to have to live without Gummi Bears for a while. She pointed out to me very forcefully that it is far better to have straight teeth than to have gummi bears and I felt such a sense of joy hearing her little voice being so stern.
I hope you and your children are making a fun go of it. They'll think you we're pretty cool for doing it. Even if they don't tell you so.
If you can find a way, enjoy the discomfort from time to time, the broader emotional transformation all of us late in life bracket clad folk are undergoing is something totally lost on a reluctant twelve year old.
Bravo Tigger Bravo!
