Braces to start my 30's...3rd Adjustment.

Hi,
I remember this post of yours :
viewtopic.php?t=29006&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Your ortho seems not to worry. I don't want to scare you, but I would worry.
Like in that post in which I replied, I continue to think things are not ok. I did
experience that it is not that difficult to extrude molars. It just takes some
constant pulling. But intruding them is so very very hard. In my case almost
impossible. I really really hope your ortho knows what he is doing. But I fear
he doesn't.

Thanks Jenny for the support. How are you doing these days?
Clo, I kind of have been trying to become blind about the whole situation. I have tried to ignore it and continue doing what he says. I have set a limit to this though. On April, it will be my 1 year in braces but my adjustment is next month so I won’t see him on April. On my next adjustment, I am going to be more aggressive and ask about what his plan is to fix this whole thing. If, I am not convinced by his answer, I will make an appointment with another ortho for a second opinion.
I have to say that I have become so indifferent, that I have been procrastinating. I want to believe that he knows what he is doing but I have my doubts from time to time. One more chance.

Good luck with everything, Flaka. I really, really hope your ortho knows what he's doing. It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion, maybe even a couple more opinions, just to see what they say about your current treatment plan. I've been to so many ortho's and you wouldn't believe how many treatment ideas have been thrown out at me. They all have different visions about what would work best. One told me I needed jaw surgery, my last ortho did not recommend surgery OR elastics! , and my newest ortho is very confident elastics will do the trick. I am so glad I changed orthos.
Goodluck and best wishes!!

Got a second Opinion today!
Thanks everyone for the good thoughts.
So I went an got a second opinion today and I feel so much better. The ortho I saw today said that he thinks my ortho knows what he is doing and that I am at a rough stage because my molars are meeting in the middle and arch needs to be broaden more. I asked about the extruding molars and he said not to worry, once my teeth have move to the side enough, a stronger elastic will be needed in order to move the roots and intrude them. He also agrees with my ortho about extracting the baby tooth and have implants.
He is confident that my current ortho is doing a good job and he said I am a tough case but need to be patience and everything will fall back into place. He took pictures and xrays, 1 hour consultation and all for free!! He said he knows my ortho and he has a great reputation.
I feel so much better now

yay!
That's awesome. It must be a big weight off your shoulders to know that your ortho does indeed know what he's doing and will be able to fix everything afterall! I am very happy for you =)
The patience thing is so true... we just gotta take our journeys one day at a time and everything will work out in the end!

It's been ages since I last posted here. I am 20 months in, my sentence is 24-30, looking like 30 if not more at this point. I have to say that for the last 8 months, I have not seen any progress and so during my last visit, my ortho finally decided to do an evaluation (about time) so he took X-rays, molds and told me to come back in two weeks which was last week.
As you can see from previous photos, my bite became crazy loopsided. They told me in advance that this was going to be a different appointment and that I was going to be there for at least one hour, I was more than ok with that but I ended up being there for 2 hours.
Dr. A moved half of my brackets around. I got 3 brackets repositioned on my upper left molars and 2 on my upper right. He also positioned an upside-down bracket on my left premolar in order to intrude that tooth. Has anyone seen this done before?I hope it works. Then he repositioned the bracket in my lower left canine and and the last two molars as well. He left my baby tooth unwired and said I should get it extracted in January.
The wire was changed to a rectangular one and no more power chains or ties on my front teeth.
I am still wearing a crossbite elastic on my right side, and a class 2 on the same side, to help with the crossbite. Only a week since the adjustment and I can already see changes. Lets hope things start progressing again.

Is my bite ever going to be corrected?
So, its going to be 2 years in braces next month and I am so not happy with the way things are. I am sure I won't be done anytime soon.
I just wonder if my bite will ever be normal and if anybody feels like this at this stage of the treatment. I try to stay positive but there are times where I just want to be over with this.
In my last adjustment, I got powerchains on my lower 6 again plus wire ties in the canines. The upside down bracket on my upper right bicuspid hasn't done much to intrude that teeth back.
I am also wearing a "box" elastics on my fron teeth to bring the bite together.
I got my baby tooth pulled a couple of weeks ago and the plan is to have an implant there once I am finished with braces.
Anyways here are some recent photos. My next adjustment is in a week, so we will see what changes.

Re: Is my bite ever going to be corrected?
Hi Flaka, I'm struggling through this right now. I have just passed my 2 year mark; I was initially given an estimate of 18-20 months. I'm just so frustrated and saddened by all the time it has taken for my non-extraction case to reach the end. I'm frustrated when I go in for my appointments and they finally get around to addressing something I pointed out (literally) months ago. I'm utterly annoyed that when I do ask for an estimate, it seems like they're flat-out lying to me.Flaka wrote:I just wonder if my bite will ever be normal and if anybody feels like this at this stage of the treatment. It's a struggle to remain hopeful -- but sometimes all you've got is hope.

Thanks for the encouragement Ken, I just keep telling myself that at the end, everything will look fine/ be fine.
My ortho told me yesterday, at my adjustment, that things are looking better but my case is very difficult and I am his "project"
Neptune, hang in there, they have to come off sooner than later...hopefully "sooner" but I totally understand your frustration, especially when you don't get straight answers from your ortho. Remain positive and hope you can get them off soon.

Hey Flaka. I've read a few comments of yours lately where you say you've been in braces for 30 months. Each time I thought, wow, that's a long time. Then it hit me -- you were braced within a week that I was braced, so it means that I've been in braces 30 months as well!
