Why exactly is it that flossing with braces is so important?

Hi venom -

I didn't realize that your post said UK. I skipped over it, so I guess I can't help you with where to get the floss fish.

Why do people have a hard time flossing with braces on?

I usually just stick the floss under the wire and pull up. At first I tried a threader and it took more time.

What am I missing here? Are there other appliances that are getting in the way?

The glider floss is the best. I did learn that if all you have is floss threaders and regular floss you just tie the floss to the threader.
