Hi there ,
I was just going over your story, and looking at your pictures and I noticed that one of your first pics posted, your front tooth and the one right next to it are positioned just like mine is...now. Anyway, then looking at some of your last posted pics, I'm seeing how totally AWSOME they have turned out and that makes me....totally psyched.....that maybe...just maybe....those little buggers of mine WILL straighten out...at some point...before I'm 87.
Anyway, your teeth look great!!!! Thanks for the pics....they make me feel very encouraged.
Braces to start my 30's...3rd Adjustment.

Hi jensceana73, thanks for stopping by
Haha, you won't be 87 when those buggers come off, that will be me! I am glad you found my photos encouraging. I still have a long way to go and hope to see some progress soon.
Maybe you will be done before me...it is a possibility Good luck with your treatment!

Hi Flaka!
My treatment is going...alright. It's a two steps forward, one step back type of thing. Recently, the left side of my arches started to line up, but then the ortho decided to on closing the gaps in my lower arch, and that effort pushed things off course a bit. (My ortho closes my lower gaps by removing the archwire and placing powerchains on the brackets for a few days. But when he puts the archwire back in, the gaps open up again. I'm worried that this will be a never-ending back and forth...)
Generally, things are alright, but I'm getting SOOOOO antsy. I think about my teeth all the time now, just waiting and praying that they're near the end of treatment. The fact that I've passed the 2.5 year mark and am on my way to 3 years (THREE YEARS!!!!) really isn't helping. My attitude is in the gutter; I don't like being this way.

Wow...that was depressing. I'm so sorry about that -- I think I just took my reply to you as an opportunity to vent. If I think about it hard enough, things aren't that dire. It's just that I'm more than ready to move on to a new phase of life.
How are you doing? Any news on how your treatment will be addressed overseas?

Why doesn't he put the powerchain on over the archwire?

Thanks offwhite, I hope they end up looking good too
Neptune. The post wasn't depressing at all, I know how you feel. We were braced at the same time and I completely understand your frustration. I hate that back and forth thing, with me, I don't even have a back and forth but it seems like my teeth just don't move or progress anymore. I have this right premolar (next to the canine) that was tipped out too much out and it has made the canine and the next front 2 teeth be flared out and my ortho has been trying to push them in for about a year but no success, the premolar's crown does not move at all.
Is hard to keep a good attitude when you realized that nothing is happening and time keeps running and we are still in metal and more than anything see no movement. I sometimes feel my braces are just an accessory as I don’t think they are doing much anymore.
I don't understand why your ortho takes the wire out for a couple of days and leaves powerchains on those gaps has he explained the logic behind it? Why not leave the archwire in and put the powerchain as snowglobe said. I really hope things start speeding up for you, at least for one of us
See Neptune, now I am the one venting haha.

Re: Braces to start my 30's...3rd Adjustment.
Hi Flaka
I know the feeling. I am 32 and have had my braces 1 month now. I have gone through days of utter depression and asking why I even signed up for this. Just to give you an update on my story so far.
I have had visits to the following in the last month:
Dentist 6 times
Hygienist 1 time
Orthodontist 5 times
I have had surgery to remove a lower central incisor (root canal tooth) which should have been a quick extraction. The gums did not heal over the exposed bone as expected after surgery. I had a change of plans from the initial treatment plan due to the surgery. I have had poking wires which made me absolutely crazy. The blue fillings on my back molar came loose and had to have it replaced. Dealing with a gap right in front . And so it goes on.
My teeth moved very fast the first two weeks and suddenly stopped moving.
BUT hang in there it gets better everyday. Your teeth will be perfect in the end!!!
