Hi
I have had my braces (lingual top and ceramic bottom) for just under three weeks now. I had four extractions and 8 days later had everything fitted (i live overseas - so needed to fit it all into short space of time).
When I originally had the braces fitted - I was totally surprised at how little pain I felt. There was a small amount of pressure feeling on my lower teeth - but really nothing to moan about top or bottom.
My question however is now. Over the last few days have been experiencing pain on random upper teeth (especially when I apply a bit of pressure for brushing, flossing, etc). Is this normal? Most of my top teeth are slightly tender (I can't bite into a sandwich for instance) but this is really sore on a random tooth for say two days and then moves to another.
Comments and advice please - I'm very new to all of this and live 7000km's from my Dr

Hi starlight,
I wouldn't worry about the changing pressure on your teeth - it is normal and is likely to happen throughout your treatment, I think it's just as your teeth slowly move into line different teeth will take it in turn to feel the tension of the wire.
In fact every now and then I've had a mini panic that I've got toothache and need a filling or something when actually the pain disappears in a day or so and it's just the tension changing.
Smile knowing that the soreness means your teeth are moving!
