I've had my braces for almost a year. My ortho says she is going to put in some spacers and then some bands on my upper and lower first molars. I found a picture of these, but what are they used for?
I really don't know why you're getting them mid treatment.
Molar bands are used usually for the patients who had cavities in their molars, and the filling spills over the surface of the tooth, and because of that the bracket will not stay glued to the tooth.
