It gets better! The day I got mine I was convinced that I was going to have to just stop talking until it was taken out...it was so embarrassing. However, after a week or so I was back to normal.

yeah, it definitely gets better. give it a week! I could talk pretty normal when I got mine put in... but my mouth kept making a ton of extra saliva and I felt like I needed to drink water all the time. It was odd. Your mouth gets really used to it though. You won't even notice it's there after a few weeks.

It will definitely get better. I found that if I just slowed my speech a little and concentrated on my pronunciation, I sounded so much better. The eating part is a little trickier. I found that if a cut everything into smaller pieces, it was that much smaller after I chewed it. Also, I tried to get into the habit of taking as drink of water after every couple bites of food to wash things off and down. A great side affect was I was getting full faster, from the water, eating less and losing a few pounds! Good luck and remember, this too shall pass!
