Hi all,
I asked my dentist to have my clincheck so I can see by myself how my teeth are going to change during my treatment with invisalign.
He told me that is not possible to have the clincheck because the file format is readable only with a specific software that he uses with the Invisalign aligners.
However I saw online many people posting their clinchecks
How can I do to have my clincheck, is there something that my dentist does not know to do in order to give me the proper file format?
Either your ortho doesn't know what he's doing with computers, or hotpass105 is right and the software to convert from clincheck to something useful costs money and he doesn't want to pay.
I would point out to him that you know other people have got copies of their clincheck (mine is in wmv format) and that you think it would be a really useful motivator during your treatment.
You can't get your actual ClinCheck the way the orthodontist sees it because there is proprietary software for it. However, your doctor can save a copy of the video for you, using several different views. This is an option in his/her software and it will save the video in a .wmv format and can be emailed to you.
Our office uses a third party program, OrthoSesame, to allow our patients to access their appointments, accounts, and ClinCheck simulations online. It is a monthly fee that we pay for this service, but our patients find it extremely useful. It helps us so that we don't have to send individual emails and save videos for the over one hundred patients that start Invisalign treatment with us annually. It also allows us to send email and text message reminders about their visits, something most of our patients prefer over phone calls!
Services such as these are conveniences to consider, in addition to cost, comfort with the doctor, location, and treatment plan, when selecting an orthodontist.
