Hi ShySmile,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved dog, Boss. Cherish your memories of him and know that you were both lucky to have found each other, even if your time together was too short. I wish your heart healing thoughts.

I would suggest contacting your orthodontist about the time in between adjustments. I suppose it's possible that the length of time is intentional (seems that each ortho does things a little differently), but it could also have been an oversight. Wouldn't hurt to call and ask, then you'll know for sure.

I have a random weird sensation in my front teeth sometimes when I drink. It's not painful - it almost feels like a little electric jolt - one quick little zap and then it's gone. It doesn't happen all the time, and it has happened with hot, cold, and every temperature in between, but only with liquid. Since it doesn't last or happen all the time, I just figured it was normal. Is this what your sensation is like?

Glad your teeth are on the move!

BaliGirl- Thank you for your comment, you are very sweet. I totally agree with you about your decription of drinking something hot with linguals on! Someone on this forum said that their wire actually popped off when they had a hot drink! I will def give my ortho a call sometime this week, because im sure my ceramics are due for an adjustment sometime in January 2011.

Very strange, im finding it hard to google Metal Mouth. I have to go into the dentakit site to finally get into it! Is this happening with anyone else?

Hey ShySmile, I am sorry to hear about your dog :( It's always hard to lose a pet as they do become part of the family. One of the reasons I'm having no more after the two I have is because of the pain you and your pet have to go through when the time comes :(

I've noticed the Google thing too. I Googled Metal Mouth and Metal Mouth Forum and the forum doesn't come up in the search anymore, same for Archwired :? .
Braces: Metal fixed upper and lower
Estimated treatment time: 18-24 months
Braces Removed: August 2013 (after 33 months in braces)
Retainers: Upper & lower essix and lower bonded

Firstly thank you girls for your comments and advice.....
Secondly, holy crap my wire just came out! I guess that nut bar wasnt the best idea :-+

I havent really followed this "food on the list" menu...I eat what i want, just in timy pieces. I guess those nut bars finally caught up with me.
I rand the ortho have to wait till tomorrow morning, a little too morning..7:50am. Oh come on! Its a 5 mins job. Ive taken so much time off already to get this grill going so i dont know how my boss will feel about me going now and taking more time off away from the office.

Wont be telling the ortho what i was eating  At least it isnt poking my cheek.

OK so I did end up getting time off work and rushed to the ortho to get poking wire fixed. No more nut bars for me!

Was floosing last night and discovered that on of my teeth has a gap! :GapToothed:
Whats that all about? I mean, i get that when the teeth start moving they will start doing all sorts of strange things, but this particular tooth was always very straight, and its moved away from its neighbour who is also a straight tooth. Dont get how it all works.

Hi Shysmile

Just reading your posts. You are hilarious. Not that I want to be laughing at your suffering but it's really funny. I like when you think you are just talking to yourself on here.

Hope things are going well, do you have an updated pic of your teeth.

Elle

First adjustment (FINALLY!) will be 10th Jan
TADs and elastics- 25th Jan...looking forward to closing up these gaps!

Hope we all have a good run over the festive season, cause im sure all our orthos will be away on holidays. Have a safe festive season all, best wishes from Australia...

Hey all,

Been a while, nothing much has happened except my wire breaks and my wire breaks....oh did i mention my wire breaks?? Had it fixed last monday by tuesday it was off again. What the hell is wrong with the way i eat/chew?? Oh well.

7 days to go until i have my Tads fitted...ouch :soremouth: Anyone had any experience with these torture devices?

QUESTION: What is up with my ortho not adjusting?? He has become to grumpy and unapproachable lately! He changed one brace, taking off the rubber lig and replacing it with a little white wire, is this an adjustment???? It was only one tooth. Im confused. Perhaps my idea of an adjustment is totally wrong?
Ive had my lower ceramics since Nov 3rd 2010 (11 weeks) thought maybe i would be needing a wire change? He did say that my wire still isnt through doing its job. Ahhh well, I guess he is the expert and knows what he is doing.

I will post photos soon (when i remember how) Wish there was an easier way besides using photobucket etc...hate that thing!

Hey Shysmile

I just upload pictures by starting a new post and then at the bottom it says Upload attachment.....then I find the smaller pixel picture on my computer ( I usually put on my desktop so its easy to find) Then I add it. That simple......I think.....and I think that's the way to do it??

I find all orthos and dentist grumpy, thank gosh they have fabulous assistants. I will be getting my first adjustment this week so I can't comment on adjustments yet.

Good to hear off you shysmile I was wondering how you was getting on :)

Can't wait to see some updated pics.

I don't understand why your wire keeps breaking though
I've had no problems what so ever apart from wires digging into my tongue but no breakages YET lol touch wood  & I wouldn't say i'm careful with what I eat, not really.

I do think it's strange how you haven't had an adjustment yet too. You might not need a wire change but I would of thought you'd need to have the wire tightened :? I've had 2 adjustments now & counting down for my third. I guess everyone's different & I guess every case is different though.

Keep smiling only 16-22 months left, maybe less for you :-*

Thank you girls.

I am an animal when i eat...i guess its my fault about the constant breaking of my wire!
Getting a little nervous about these screws im getting this coming tuesday. Not a huge fan of needles. Ouch. It reminds me of when i had my extractions.

I will put up photos next week and my new shiny screws!! God i hope they dont fall out, I will be charged everytime i lose one!
