I've been in braces for 6 weeks and went back to my ortho on Monday (two weeks after 1st adjustment) to change the clear ligs for hot pink ones as they were beginning to stain and I thought they would look awful by the time I had my next appointment in January Anyhoo, he measured my overjet and it's been reduced from 14mm to 10mm already I'm so happy, especially as I didn't think much was happening. These elastics might be a nuisance but they sure work!
Just thought I'd share, I must remember to take some pics
Wow! Very encouraging indeed :)

Can't believe you're in elastics already. I thought that happened mid treatment or towards the end. But then i'm new to all this so i'm probs wrong

It's encouraging to hear things like this as I will be wearing elastics at some point too to reduce an overjet.

Thank you all
lu lu, I used to think the same. Maybe it's because my overjet it so big and my ortho wants to see what he can do without taking any teeth out first? I may well need a couple out later on but it's nice to know that he's trying it this way first.
