Re: TDiamond lingual braces story
ohhh such good news in time for Christmas!
At first i hated my extraction gaps but i have forgot they are even there these days. Having my chains and tad on 25th Jan 2011...start closing my babies up to!
This might sound completly creepy but i was looking at your photos and from what i can see, i bet you are a really good looking girl! You just have that look from what i can see! Before admin raises the warning alarm...realax i am female!! haha. Goodluck, your teeth are looking very straight.

Thanks for the reply Chaplains Assistant. Have you had a lot of pain from closing the gaps? My mouth is still aching today and it's still sore to chew.
ShySmile stop you are making me blush I don't know how you can tell that from those pics but thanks for the compliment haha x

Not much pain at all - don't really notice it anymore. The first 2 months were the worst. Only pain after adjustments for 3-4 days. Ortho is trying to close my extraction gap with power chain from molar to canine. Maybe your ortho with do something else and it would move faster. Good luck and remember in the end you'll have a great new smile and perfect teeth. It's worth it!

Yeah that is what I have as well. My tongue is sore from rubbing against the power chains but I guess it'll get used to them too.
Yes I agree it is worth the pain

Wow! I see a big difference! It looks like magic since I can't see your braces. Very cool!

TDiamond your teeth are looking fantastic!!
Did you find you had/have speech problems with the linguals? I'm considering getting them and that's my main concern!

Re: TDiamond lingual braces story
Thanks Carochelsea. I would have to say no. I got my bottom wires on first and noticed no difference. When I got my top ones on I nticed a slight lisp but I think it was only really noticible to me and it disappeared within about a week. It was a bit worse when I'd had a drink haha.
The first day I got my brackets on it was quite painful so I smothered them with wax. That day I had a proper lisp it was hilarious. I took the wax off immediately and just let my tongue get used to it, which it does quite quickly after a couple of days of eating soup and mush.
It is definitely worth the pain and slight lisping you should go for it.
I've heard people saying singing out loud to yourself gets rid of any little lisp you might have. Just don't let anyone see you

Sorry I just realised I never finished this off. I got my braces off in November 2011. Here is the finished result which I am very pleased with. IT was an expensive process, but it was the best money I have ever spent.
