So I went through my progress pics out of curiosity yesterday and came up with this...

Image Image Image Image

Geez! This almost desn't look like the same set of teeth! If this isn't the biggest change I've ever seen, I don't know what is!!!

I also eat differently! I remember as a teenager, my best friend would always ask me why I'd rub my tongue against the roof of my mouth when I ate. I had no clue what she was talking about and I thought she was flat out crazy.

After getting braces I realized my upper row was so bucked that I had to do that to get all of that food in its proper place...my stomach. The bestie sucked her thumb too, but she wasn't hardcore like good ol' Buckey. 8)

It's a shame how long it took me to realize that was an oral disadvantage.

WOW, that is awesome, it is like a whole new mouth.

Is that with just braces or elastics too??

WOOOOOWWWWW!!! I SO cannot wait until mine look like that! They're close, but they're still off to one side, which I am noticing more and more every day. Your teeth are so beautiful... You are my inspiration.

Helllllloooooooo!!!

Ellebraced - It's definitely with elastics and that handy dandy powerchain. My teeth would have never went back that quick without those elastics. It's amazing they aren't a part of my treatment now. But you can NEVER under estimate the Ortho. I give it until the visit after next at the latest before they begin adding elastics back into my treatment. But we'll see.

Catgyrl! - I'm glad I could help however I feel like I'm at a stand still right now. Which is the ultimate reason for the pics. I just examined and checked out my progress to make me feel just a teensy weensy bit better. Check out your bite pics and compare. I'm sure you'll see an exciting amount of movement even though things aren't quite where you'd desire them to be.

This is obviously Buckey the Psychiatrist/Inspirational Speaker talking...Someone please turn me off. :yikes:

Man, your teeth look like the perfect models they show you when you go see the ortho. Your teeth are so white and clean, they almost look fake!!
Wow, what an improvement. Everyone asks me why I have braces because no one thinks I needed them. I only hope that my teeth change that drastically to near perfect teeth like yours so that it can show that I did need them. I am running to get some baking soda and peroxide  ...right?? lol
Thanks for all the pictures and updates. I will be wearing rubber bands soon too so let me know how that all goes for you.

:o Wow! Thanks ladies for your wonderful comments! I now hope that I'm in them less than another year. September anyone?

]NurseJ[/b], I'm so very glad I could help. Even in my stagnant moments.

Kgstar, Thanks!!! You make me feel really special :rose: :D. Yup, baking soda and peroxide did the trick and continues to keep it up. You have practically perfect teeth yourself and I applaud you for wanting to make your smile even better than it is now! Proceed with bs and peroxide with caution because it doesn't taste all that great. :P

Thank you soooooo much Chrystal! One year down, one more to go (hopefully not but I liked the way it sounded :P)

Hello Fellow ArchWiredians!

Great news! Buckey can pay for her braces because she's got a new job!!!! The funny part about it is I've been working here going on 3 weeks...Yeah. I've been kind of lackadaisical about the whole matter because I thought my dark red powerchain was going to send them on overload BUT IT DIDN'T!!! I'm so excited! Sorry I didn't bring the news earlier, but trying to settle into a new job can be kind of tough sometimes.

My braces will now thank me! I can pay for them and all of my bills AND have money left over!!! This is a reason to celebrate!!!

Monday Feb. 14th, 2011 at 9 am is my next adjustment. It feels like the white spots are spreading like a wild fire but I think I'm really, really, really paranoid to boot. I just may give my Dentist a call to see what I can do about it. I hear a fluoride rinse but I don't know that,, that'll work since I don't care to add fluoride to the products I use for my teeth. But who knows.

Anywho!!! I just wanted to give a minor update since I let myself fall to the second page again. Not to mention, I missed you all...

I have been reading your story and just wanted to comment about the white spots or decalcification. My hygenist recommended this product called IM Paste that is only sold through dentists. I googled it and it is recommended for people with braces as well to help recalcify teeth.

I have been using it for a couple of weeks myself because I am concerned about that as well. Let me know what you think.

Hmm.. you mean MI Paste? I use it on my son's teeth. I never thought about using it on my own.. I'll ask my dentist about that later!

Yes I did mean MI Paste. Let me know what your dentist says. It is always good to get a second opinion.
